Lashburn’s history

Lashburn was founded in 1903, when the Barr Colonists arrived under the leadership of Isaac Barr, an Anglican priest. The settlers' arrival marked the start of the community on the banks of the Battle River.

Today Lashburn is a town on the Yellowhead Highway, about 35 kilometres east of Lloydminster and 107 kilometres west of North Battleford.

The town has produced a number of notable people, among them painter and interior designer Henry Bonli, Royal Air Force flying ace Edward Charles, NHL player Dwight Carruthers, and actor and musician George Krissa, who has appeared on stage at the Stratford Festival, the Royal Alexandra Theatre and the Shaw Festival.
